Prayers For Dedicating Our Gifts And Ourselves

L: We give thanks to you, O Lord, with every breath. Because you nurtured life with human love.
P: We bring you all of our relationships for your blessing.
L: Because you gifted us with time to be.
P: We bring our moments and our days as gifts again to you.
L: Because you gave us skills to work and create.
P: We pledge to you what we make with our hands and the money we earn with our skills.
L: Because each one of us has gifts and skills, some recognized, some still hidden,
P: We offer you what we know we can see, and make, and do.
L: Because you freely offered us redeeming love.
P: We bring the gift of love in gratitude to you.
L: From gift to figt, from grace to grace, our gifts are only gifts of your returned.
P: So, use these gifts, our lives, and this family of faith as rays of your light for the world, helping them dispel the darkness and reveal your power to work through us and make all things new. Amen.
  - David Inglis

God of Power so great as to be able to use even us in your work, help us in our faltering attempts to release all of who we are and what we have to you. Work in us and through us, that we may bring living water where there are deserts among us, healing where there is hurt, beauty where there is ugliness, justice where there is brokenness, and beginnings where there are dead ends. May the flame of your Spirit burn brightly in our hearts and set the world ablaze with the warmth and light of your grace. Amen.

Lord of us all, through these offerings we become partners with you in your cause. We join you in our concern for all people, and name them as our own brothers and sisters. We return these gifts of our material resources and our time to extend your redeeming will into this moment in history and into your world. Thank you for this privilege. Amen.

Lord, you have given us people who love us and whom we love. In this we find comfort. And you have placed strangers in our lives. In this we find our challenge and your call. Open our eyes to see your face in every person we meet. Open our hearts to count each of your children as a brother or sister. Open our arms to welcome them in. Open our gifts so that we may show them that your love and compassion have no bounds. Through this may we find that you have made your home in us, and us part of your family. Amen.

Gracious Giver of all gifts, in this holy moment make us aware, not so much of what we have given as of all we have received and so have yet to share. Let your generosity so flow through us, that our lives will be gifts given freely and abundantly in joy and thanksgiving. Amen.

O God, through these offerings and the offering of our lives, may your vision of unity for all creation reach out from this faith community into the world around us. May we place all that we have, all that we do, and all that we are in your hands, so that you may use us in your mighty work of reconciling the world. Amen.

Ever-giving God, you have said Yes to us at every turn. You have entrusted to us the gift of life and the gifts of living-family, friends, food, and the richness of this world. You have offered us the gifts of abundant life-forgiveness, a purpose, a call, and your Spirit as our guide and strength. With these gifts we say Yes to you. Help us to release all of who we are and what we have to you. Work in us and through us, that together with You we may offer living water where there are deserts among us, healing where there is hurt, beauty where there is ugliness, justice where there is brokenness, and new beginnings where there are dead ends. May the flame of your Spirit burn brightly in our hearts and set the world ablaze with the power of your grace.

Amen.

You flavor our actions, O God, and illumine our minds. May the fruits of our labors nourish others. May the wisdom you give lead others to know Christ. May our lives be seasoned by service, and the light of our good works bring glory to your name. We have received in abundance; may we serve without ceasing.

Giver of all gifts, Attender to all prayers, help us to live as we pray. Through these gifts and our rededication to your purpose, may our lives be answers to prayer to those seeking some sign of your presence in this world. Make us a blessing, that through our acts of love, generosity, courage and service your Spirit blesses the world. Amen.

God of life and life anew, we bring our offerings, our symbols of faith and our hearts to you this day. We seek your renewing Spirit so that we can make new beginnings with openness and trust. Help us to be open to new ways of seeing, to new avenues of acting, to a renewal of our relationships, so that we can join you in making all things new. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

O God, we thank you that in your wisdom and for your purposes you launched us on this journey of life, and by your grace you are our companion in it until we find our way home to each other and your kingdom. We are grateful to you for the miracle of your presence in bread and wine, in snowfalls and sunsets, in worship and in work. We are glad for the assurance that even in adversity your spirit labors for our healing and redemption. O gracious God, let these gifts be expressions of our gratitude, and let them link us with you, with each other, and with the world you hold in your embrace. May these gifts be harbingers of hope and beacons of light against the darkness and fear in our world. Amen.

Palm Sunday

God of all true power and glory, we thank you that Jesus Christ came to Jerusalem, not with a sword to challenge the power of this world, but with love, recreating the world into a new kind of kingdom. Empower us as your church to follow your ways, extending your love into the world. May these gifts help create a new human community through your Spirit and in your name. Amen.

Earth Day Sunday

God, you have created the earth in goodness and beauty. Forgive all that we have done to harm your earth. You have filled the earth with food and all that we need for our sustenance. We share now the gifts of the earth, mindful that you have created us as one human family and caretakers of the earth. We rededicate our gifts and our lives, that hope, wisdom and peace may break forth on the face of the earth and align us with your vision for our world. Amen.
